East Acton is located in Zone 2 on the Central Line and has 24 hour bus links to the heart of London, making it a perfect location for both work and play. There is a quick link by either bus or tube to Shepherds Bush Green, where there is another tube station, Shepherd’s Bush Market, on the Hammersmith and City Line and the Circle Line. There is also an overland train station on Shepherd’s Bush Green.

There is an extensive network of bus routes from Shepherd’s Bush and East Acton that take you all around London. Many of them are night buses.

Shopping and Entertainment:

East Acton High Street is just two minutes from the house. You will find all you need there for everyday living, such as a supermarket, chemist, baker, post office and a selection of other shops, cafés and pubs. For all your other shopping and entertainment needs, Shepherd’s Bush (1 stop away on the tube)  is the perfect location for shops, restaurants, bars, café’s and pubs. The Westfield Shopping Centre is the largest city centre Shopping Centre in Europe; located just behind the Central Line it contains hundreds of shops and restaurants, including a food court. Inside West 12 Shopping Centre, on the opposite side of the Green from the Central Line tube station, is an Aldi Supermarket, where you can do your weekly food shop; there are also branches of Tesco, Waitrose and Marks & Spencer an easy walk away. 

Shepherd’s Bush Market is one of the oldest established street markets in London and has fresh fruit and vegetable stalls, fresh meat and fish, clothes and nick nacks.

Shepherd’s Bush also has a local theatre called The Bush Theatre that puts on different small productions each month for a bargain price, some of their shows later move to the West End - London's theatre district. There is also a 12 screen Vue Cinema, a Walkabout Bar and the O2-Empire music venue for live music. Many of the local bars also offer live music and there is a Comedy Club located on Shepherd's Bush Green.

Sport and Exercise:

Wormword scrubs, a huge park (approx 4km circumference) is 4 minutes' walk up the road. There are football pitches and large open spaces. Linford Christie Sports Centre is in the park where there are all weather football/hockey pitches, a running track and even baseball batting cages!

There are other sports centers in White City and if you head over to Shepherds Bush, by the Green there is a great gym called Fitness First and a large "Gym Box" gym (including a boxing ring) inside the shopping centre. There is a large pool hall inside West 12, offering traditional snooker or American pool. There are tennis courts on Shepherd’s Bush Green that are free to use.

Just a five minute walk away there is QPR (Queens Park Rangers), your local Championship Football Team. About a 10 minute walk past Shepherd’s Bush Roundabout is one of London’s most beautiful parks, Holland Park, with many lovely areas waiting to be discovered.
