Local Map:

Local Area Information:

Transport:

Ladbroke Grove Tube station on the Hammersmith and City line is less than a five minute walk away.
There is an extensive network of bus routes surrounding the house that take you all around London. Many of them are night buses.

Shopping and Entertainment:

There is a selection of local shops at the top of the road for your “emergency supplies” and a huge Sainsbury’s Supermarket where you can do your weekly food shop is around five minutes away. Portobello Road Market is also about a five minute walk from the house. On a Saturday this street is buzzing with stalls selling everything from designer clothes, antiques, food, jewellery and everything you could ever think of. On week days and Saturdays there are fresh fruit and vegetable stores willing to make bargains especially at the end of the day to get rid of their produce. There are great boutique shops, café’s, restaurants and pubs along Portobello Road and in all the small side roads surrounding it. On Portobello Road is the Electric Cinema, a unique and exciting place to watch films in style.
The choice of restaurants, bars and pubs is overwhelming, there is a option to suit every budget and taste, covering all local and international styles of cuisine.
The Canal is just short walk away. If you turn left on the Canal, you will find peace and quiet, if you turn right you will get to little Venice and then to Regents Park, London Zoo, Lords Cricket Ground and even to Camden, where there is a huge (and slightly bizarre) market on Sundays. There are also some lovely pubs along the Canal, some with gardens on the water.

Whiteleys Shopping Centre on Queensway has great shops, restaurants, café’s and a multi screen cinema. There is a bowling alley and an ice rink at the top of Queensway as well as the entrance to Hyde Park & Kensington Gardens, two of London’s largest and beautiful parks. At the other end of Queensway you will find a swimming pool and Spa called Porchester Baths.

Sport and Exercise:

By the Green there is a great gym called Fitness First and a large "Gym Box" gym (including a boxing ring) inside the shopping centre. There is a large pool hall inside West 12, offering traditional snooker or American pool. There are tennis courts on Shepherd’s Bush Green that are free to use. Just a five minute walk away there is QPR (Queens Park Rangers), your local Championship Football Team. About a 10 minute walk past Shepherd’s Bush Roundabout is one of London’s most beautiful parks, Holland Park, with many lovely areas waiting to be discovered.
